A note on the behaviour of the process capability index Cpmk with asymmetric specification limits
The properties of Cpmk in the presence of asymmetric specification limits are discussed. It is shown that Cpmk tends to zero as the process variation increases and vice versa. Furthermore, if the process variation is small, Cpmk has its maximum near the target value but the maximum moves towards the specification midpoint as the variation increases. This is a desirable property as for large var...

متن کاملfuzzy multivariate process capability index for measuring process capability
abstract. in the case of process capability index several methods are identified. in this paper ,a new process capability index using fuzzy number and fuzzy probability concept, in order to remove the weakness of other famous method is suggested. after introduction of fuzzy index in univariate case, fuzzy multivariate process capability index is investigated. finally, this new method is compare...
متن کاملThe New Nino Capability Index for Dynamic Process Capability Analysis
The process capability analysis is a crucial activity to evaluate if the process outcome meets the design specifications. Classically, such analysis is performed by verifying the in-control condition of the process and evaluating suitable capability indices, by assuming the process in-control steady-state condition. However, the in-control period of the process characterizes only a part of the ...
متن کاملA General Multivariate Bayesian Process Capability Index
Process capability analysis is designed to estimate the proportion of parts that do not meet engineering requirements in a stable production process. In this paper, we review and criticize the capability indices typically used in industry for this purpose, and propose a general multivariate Bayesian capability index which contains the conventional index as a limiting case. We further derive its...
